MILES DAVIS SEPTET
Chicago 1990 [no label, 1CD]
Chicago Jazz Festival. Live at the Petrillo Music Shell, Grant Park, Chicago IL; August 30, 1990. Very good WPFW Washington (DC)/NPR Radio Broadcast.
Thanks to RatedX for sharing the show at Dime.
RatedX noted:
- Thank you to Jazzbrat for the many Miles shows you shared with me in the - late ’90s. It was/is greatly appreciated.
- Tracking is of my own liking and I didn’t alter any music. I just removed the dead air before track 1 and at the end of track 8. Otherwise all is as I received it from Jazzbrat back in the late ’90s
- This version is missing the Band Warming Up - 1:14 before Perfect Way
- I left the radio comment in as it bring an authentic feel from the radio broadcast no matter what one of the broadcaster said at the end, can’t please everybody but I like the older men sentence at the very end “Thank you my man”.
- This version precede all bootlegs versions that came after circa 2016. This version is the original or one of the and as I received it in the late 1990s.
Personal notes:
- Thank you Richard Patterson for your bass solos on Me And You, those are always a pleasure to hear.
- Miles forever from 1945 to 1991 and beyond.
