Live at the Vic Theater, Chicago, IL; December 6 1990. Excellent Pre-FM.
Despite his earlier albums, it was in the second half of the ’80s when John Hiatt got a hattrick of homeruns, starting with 1987’s Bring The Family. His next two albums, Slow Turning (1988) and Stolen Moments (1990), helped defined him as a singer-songwriter who not only had the songs but could also sell.
This is an excellent all-round show - a keeper for John Hiatt fans; and a good introduction to anyone wondering why John Hiatt matters.

Initially, there was some confusion over the setlist but vtec (at Dime) offers an explanation:
I think the reason for the setlist confusion is that I believe there were two shows at the Vic Theatre in December 1990. One (this show) was a benefit concert for children in Chicago and the other was the next day. The set list given by the uploader is for the second show, which was also broadcast on WXRT-FM in Chicago. I have that other show and “Trudy And Dave” was played in place of “Listening to Old Voices” and the order of some other songs differed. A portion of the other show was also on a bootleg called “The Wild Blue Yonder”. Both shows circulate as December 6, 1990, but I think the date for this show is correct and the second show was actually December 7.
