Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival 2013 [no label, 1CD]
Live at the Black Oak Ranch, Laytonville, CA; June 30, 2013. Very good FM broadcast.
Kate Wolf repopularized folk music in Northern California in the 1970s, and went on to national recognition before her untimely passing in 1986 of leukemia. The Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival started as a one-day, one-time event. In 2014, the festival celebrates its 19th year, having grown into a three-day, three-night, camping event at the Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville, three hours north of San Francisco. It has been called “the best, the single best festival.”

Another three-way effort, Sally attended and recorded, Big Dee cleaned up the files and I resplit/labelled/tagged. Many thanks to Sally and Dave. I don’t know what the set up is at Kate Wolfe for the FM broadcasts but I suspect they use microphones rather/as well as a board feed as you can hear a fair bit of crowd/possibly crew noise.
