PAUL McCARTNEY
Deliverance Live [Live Line LL 2-25452, 2CD]
The Paul McCartney World Tour 1989-1990. Live at the University of California’s Memorial Stadium, Berkeley, San Francisco, CA; March 31, 1990 and soundcheck at the Sun Devil Stadium, Phoenix, Arizona; April 4, 1990. Very good soundboard.
The Paul McCartney World Tour (1989-1990) was McCartney’s first major tour outing in 10 years, since Wings UK Tour 1979, and his first appearances in North America in 13 years, since the 1976 Wings Over America Tour. It was also his first tour under his name. While the tour coincided with the release of his Flowers In The Dirt album, it was thematically more about his finally embracing his Beatles past, including for the first time, in any of his tours, a substantial number of Beatles songs in the set list. The tour also resulted in the Tripping The Live Fantastic live album; and featured in the 1991 film Get Back; and the TV documentary, From Rio To Liverpool. - wikipedia
This is not the complete March 31, 1990 Berkeley show - an audience-recorded complete show has circulated among fans - but this appears to come from a soundboard. It is probably the April 4, 1990 soundcheck at the Sun Devil Stadium in Phoenix that would be more interesting for the fans. [Now, why does the Aeroplane Jam sounds like something from the Commodores circa Machine Gun? And couldn’t that jam (Track 208) come from a Santana set?]
