Singer-songwriter Christina Perri might be best known for the break-up song, Jar Of Hearts, which was first featured on the So You Think You Can Dance TV show in 2010. And fans would lap up A Thousand Days, from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. She released her debut album, Lovestrong, in 2011 and her follow-up album, Head Or Heart, was released in April 2014.
On March 8, 2015, Christina Perri closed the 11th Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival, performing to a full house at the biggest hall of JIExpo in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. Clad in a white shirt and black shorts, Perri’s appearance on stage was met with loud applause and cheering from the crowd.
The Jakarta Post reported that when the intro of “A Thousand Years” played, screams resounded throughout the hall, as predicted, and the crowd immediately put up their phones to record her performance. From the beginning to the end of the song, the audience sang along under the direction of Perri.
Apart from Perri, other artistes who appeared at the JavaJazz Festival from March 6 to 8 included Brad Mehldau, Bobby McFerrin, Chaka Khan, Lisa Ono, Courtney Pine and Chris Botti.
