Live at the Jazz & Rib Festival, North Bank Stage, Columbus, Ohio; July 19, 2015. Fairly to very good audience recording. (Hopefully the surrounding audience noice doesn’t get too distracting.)
Anyone who turns the songs of Beck (and that is Beck Hansen, not Jeff Beck) into a jazz album certainly deserve your attention. That’s what Hammond B3 organist Dr Lonnie Smith did on his 2003 album, Boogaloo To Beck: A Tribute. For more, the Jazz Journalist Association named Smith “Organ Keyboardist of the Year” in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009. [His beard and turban do not reflect a conversion to Sikhism; they are strictly for stylistic reasons.]

Nice show here with the legend with a few Columbus jazz notables in the crowd. Thundershowers came about three hours before showtime and cooled the temperature and likely thinned the crowd out. Despite brief dog barks at the beginning and a couple of trains rolling by, sound is excellent. Crowd noise is mild, except for a little chatter (in the earlier part of the show) by late arrivals, most audible during quieter segments.
