Avant-garde or minimalist musician Terry Riley was going great guns at the 2015 World Minimal Music Festival in Amsterdam. On April 8, he had a great set with Lunatree and Stargaze (click here) and, on April 10, he played with Nayan Ghosh. The Indian classical performer holds a unique position in the Indian music scene as a front ranking tabla maestro and a sitar exponent, with equal command in both streams. And in such a performance, the labels “Indian” music or “World Music” don’t really matter.
