The Ultimate Concert For World Peace! Vol 2
The Dave & Deke Combo [no label, 1CD]
Live at Joe’s Great American Bar & Grill, Burbank, CA; November 15, 2014. Very good audience stereo.
On November 11 (Veterans Day), The Concert For Valor 2014 was held at the Mall in Washington, DC and drew as many as 800,000 people, not to mention the millions who watched it on TV.
A few days later, over at Joe’s Great American Bar & Grill in Burbank, CA, and with only a fraction of the crowd, The Ultimate Concert For World Peace! was held, featuring The Olde Lamplighter, The Outta Sites, The Dave & Deke Combo and Los Staightjackets with Deke Dickerson.
After playing in several local rockabilly bands, Deke formed The Untamed Youth at age 17 in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri. In 1991 he moved to Los Angeles and joined Dave Stuckey to form the Dave & Deke Combo. Dickerson writes a regular column in Guitar Player magazine and feature articles in Vintage Guitar magazine and The Fretboard Journal. He also organizes an annual “Guitar Geek Festival” held in Anaheim, California, every January, during the NAMM Show.
Dave Stuckey has been kicking around in The Dave & Deke Combo. The Lucky Stars & Bonebrake Syncopators, among others, for a few years now… his latest outfit specializes in the ’20s and ’30s… swung hard and put up wet!

hitwitstuff2 noted:
All in the cause of World Peace, Dave & Deke [that’s Dave Stuckey and Deke Dickerson] buried the hatchet and reunited for this very special show. Nobody but them knows why they buried the hatchet. It was a good hatchet and could have come in handy this winter, but when Dave and Deke get together… well, boys will be boys… Loads of fun was has by all. Did a lot of guessing on this set list.
