In a project that started with an email, Teddy Thompson (son of Richard and Linda), who has his own top 10 album under his belt, has gathered up his clan to record an album together. Joining these three are Kami (daughter of Richard and Linda), her husband James Walbourne, Jack Thompson (Teddy’s brother) and Zak Hobbs, Richard’s grandson. Teddy Thompson says: “Growing up you are formed by your parents, and then when you get to be 18 or 19 and you get out of the house, you want to distance yourself from your parents. That’s natural. That was the case for me musically. I wanted to get away from them. Then you realise you can’t because that’s who you are. So you come round again.” Everybody wrote and recorded their songs where they live and once the songs were done, the family met up for four days of studio time in London and New York City, where the tracks were recorded with Teddy producing.
