THE GRATEFUL DEAD
Warlox [mega-rare restored vinyl, 1CD]

Various dates and venues (pre-1973), speed-corrected and rejoined. Good to fairly good audio.

Thanks to Doinker for sharing the tracks at Lossless Legs.

Doinker noted:

“Warlox” was perhaps the first true Grateful Dead boot I ever bought. For some reason now it’s a rare title, it certainly was available all over my local area when it came out. I myself have a soft spot for it and, upon remastering the LP, now I know why. Despite the sometimes distorted recordings, this is a fabulous set of material. I would even go as far as to say that if the proper dates and venues may be found out, that a 2014-worthy remake should be made, even if it’s only for a little edification.

The record company that produced this title was known for making sometimes poor copies of west-coast material (TMOQ, etc), but did make a few originals. This is one of them.

I would perhaps take issue with both the overall spelling and the exact titles. Please provide corrections. In fact, QFT and MAMU do not separate and were left intact as one piece. Additionally, they were separately speed-corrected from the rest of the LP as they ran too slow.

Thanks also to fangedesire for the track details; and to poordevil for the cover picture.

Lineage:
LP matrix 2013 A/B > Technics SL1200MK2 with slight speed-correcion on turntable > Echo Layla 3G > Sound Forge 6.0 > additional speed-correction to QFT and MAMU > click and crackle suite, no noise reduction was applied > FLAC via TLH level 6, sectors aligned and verified, FLAC integrity checked
